All the VC DataGuard Online Backup Storage Platforms are hosted using VC DataGuard's own secure hosting facilities, which combine our secure data centre facilities and fully resilient network infrastructure.

The VC DataGuard Online Backup Storage Platforms are fully mirrored and hosted in separate locations. The primary Storage Platforms are located in our Wapping data centre whilst the secondary (Mirror) Storage Platforms are situated in data centres outside of central London.

The VC DataGuard hosting facilities are linked directly to our own high speed, ultra reliable, hosting network. Our dedicated hosting network features multiple, high-speed fibre optic connections to our Internet Backbone Providers, Cable & Wireless and Energis, that provide full redundancy of service using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) technology.

VC DataGuard also has its own Autonomous System, otherwise known as an "AS Number" allowing VC DataGuard to send and receive Internet traffic via any of our backbone providers, thus making VC DataGuard ISP independant. This fully resilient system means VC DataGuard can offer up to 100% availability and 100% redundancy across both the (Cable & Wireless and Energis) Tier 1 Internet backbones.

Ideal for Business Critical applications, VC DataGuard's own private and fully secure hosting centres, such as the facility in Wapping, are housed in highly secure Disaster Recovery buildings run by IBM Business Continuity Services.

The main and most important features of the secure Disaster Recovery buildings are:
